Okay but more importantly...Who Am I?
So I've literally been trying to convince Madison to start a travel blog with me, for about a year - to which he blatantly refused...until now. I must admit I had a crack at travel "vlogging" during Gap Year 1.0, and loved it...until my laptop cracked it mid-year, which was probably a godsend, because those videos are atrocious.
Anyway, I've included a link to my old videos just in case you felt like coughing up a lung from laughter. Incidentally, we have decided to transform my old channel into our new his and her travelings blog channel, which you can check out here.
We really just want to be able to digitally document our second gap year abroad in the UK, mainly to keep my friends and family back home in the loop. However, for those of you who aren't in the loop, let me catch you up...
Hi, my name is Ruby, I am 22 and originally from the Gold Coast, Australia. After graduating from high school in 2013, I lived in the United Kingdom for a year working at a boarding school as a gap student. In 2015, I returned to Australia and completed my law degree at Bond University, where I graduated in August 2017. Two days after my last exam, I flew back over to the UK where I have been living ever since.
Whilst I've been here I've been working in a cocktail bar, learning Spanish and traveling whenever we have time off. So far on our travels, we've visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey. We plan on doing a whole lot more in the next six months.
Oh yeah and who's this mysterious 'we' I keep referring to, well that would be my incredibly dashing and loving boyfriend Madison...BUT don't call him anything but Madie (he's a bit touchy re. name choice). We started dating back in 2011, as naive sixteen year olds, fast forward through the drama-infused-high-school-years and our relationship stuck back in 2015. We are certainly two sides of the same coin, he is high strung with a touch of OCD and I'm laid back with a touch of laziness (which my parents can vouch for), but our goofiness, finesse for life and love of all things adventure creates a harmonious partnership (or as Mads described at my 21st a very 'constructive' relationship). Our favourite pastimes include chucking a ball around outside, cooking dinner together and taking long walks around the park.
Other interesting information about me is that I love to read, I am mildly obsessed with bullet journalling and STICKERS, I also love to sing (and dance) literally everywhere. Also I'm a big fan of netflix and chill, particularly if accompanied with a wine, fruit cider or a cup of tea. I also play a little netball here and there, although I did something to my knee in the semi-finals of my game with the Goal Diggers...so my career is on hold at the moment. Eventually I'll head back to Australia and complete my PLT's and begin practicing family law and way WAY waaaaayyyy down the line, I'd love to start up my own law firm. Anyway thats the basics, for now I'm just enjoying being a young adult with more than six weeks holiday leave a year. I'll be here every Monday to give you a dose of "Her" perspective, thanks for supporting us.
With love R x
